Product Review: Nexxus Dualiste Dual Benefit Leave-In Conditioning Spray
Product Review: Nexxus Dualiste Dual Benefit Leave-In Conditioning Spray
Cost: Around $12
Where to Purchase: Ulta and some drugstores
Claims: This is the answer for your dry hair. Get the dual benefit of color protection and hydration with Nexxus Dualiste Dual Benefit Leave-In Conditioning Spray. This scientifically developed and salon proven formula provides the ultimate in color protection plus the customized protection your hair needs. It infuses moisture in the hair and makes it vibrant. It also lends your hair great body and lift. The light and non-greasy formula in this conditioner provides hair with deep conditioning, infuses vital moisture and is extremely soft on the hair. This spray was scientifically formulated to provide best-in-class color protection and maximum hydration to dry, brittle and damaged hair
Thoughts: Long story short, this is OK and pretty good if you have thin hair and don't have a lot of it. As far as color protection I think it's bogus. My color faded regardless and I used it for about 6 months, finished 2 bottles and still had to color my hair every 5-6 weeks. However, seeing as I have thin hair and don't have a lot of it the leave-in conditioner worked pretty good for me however if you have a lot of hair or have thick or coarse hair this is not the leave-in conditioner that you want.
How I use it: Spray is liberally on my hair after I get out of the shower, style as normal.

Product Review: Big Sexy Hair's Powder Play
Product Review: Big Sexy Hair's Powder Play
Cost: $14.99
Where to Purchase: Ulta, some drugstores
Claims: Big sexy hair powder play volumizing and texturizing powder powers up the volume in every hair type with no product feel! Its weightless, odorless and colorless on hair.
Thoughts: This is a product that came highly recommended by my friend. It do a small 'poof' on my hair on dirty hair days so I tend to tease the crown, however halfway in the day my 'poof' has completely disappeared and my volume has gone with it. So she recommended I dust this right after I tease and just 'pat it in'. And BOOM! this stuff actually WORKS! I mean, my volume never leaves, it holds the teasing and creates a nice little poof on my crown. I have to have this in my bathroom all the time, it quickly resolves a dirty hair day.
How I use it: Once I've teased the crown of my head, a dust a wee bit of the powder on my hair and 'pat it' in. During the day if I feel I need more volume I just 'rub' the area and it inflates once more. It washes off with shampoo.

Showdown: Fekkai's Technician Color Care 3-Minute Mask VS Ojon Revitalizing 2-min Hair Mask
Showdown: Fekkai's Technician Color Care 3-Minute Mask VS Ojon Revitalizing 2-min Hair Mask
I'm a certified sucker for any 'deep conditioning' treatments. I love them all, from high end to cheap $3 ones. I decided to showdown these two because they're relative in price and they both claim these 2-3 masks will make a world of difference to your hair.
I will start out by stating that I LOVE both of these products. To me, it's only a slight difference between the two and will really depend on your own hair which you will prefer. There's specific things about each that I love and there's things about each that I wish the other had.
Let's get some facts & opinions, shall we?

Fekkai:
- Cost: $32 for 7oz
- Claims: An intense and instant treatment designed to deeply nourish and protect color-treated hair. The luscious creamy formula helps extend the life of color treatments and maintain healthy, shiny hair. The triple-color protection complex helps protect hair from UV rays and color from fading, while it helps keep color looking radiant and lustrous. It is the perfect solution for just-colored hair that delivers a vibrant, silky feel without the "wait."
- Scent: It's got a musky-sweet scent, very nice though my roommate isn't too keen on it so I'm guessing it just depends on the person, however I do smell it a good day after my treatment.
- Results: My favorite thing about this is how long this thing lasts. You get 7oz but you basically need a quarter size of product. I have long (mid-to-lower back) hair, fine and wavy. Admittedly I don't have a lot of hair so if you have a lot of hair and it's thick you may use this twice as fast as I do. But really, a little goes a long way. I work it into the lower part of my hair and leave it on for about 5 min while I continue my shower. Once I rinse there's no need for any 'leave-in conditioner' as I feel my hair has gotten plenty nourishment. More than moisturizing it, I feel this product does really deliver to keep my colored hair looking fresh and vibrant. I've gotten various compliments in the past month that I've been using it that my hair looks darker and the thing is that my hair is dyed a dark brown but as the weeks go by it fades to med brown but this stuff really keeps the vibrancy of that dark chocolate brown I like. That alone makes it worth while for me. I do this treatment about once a week, twice if I've really fried my hair with my curling iron :)
Ojon:
- Cost: $36.50 for 6.6oz
- Claims: An intensive in-shower treatment that hydrates, smooths and detangles. In just 2 minutes, this nourishing creamy mask improves the condition of dry, dehydrated hair. With the appeal of a light refreshing fragrance this formula helps replenish hydration and detangle hair leaving it silky-smooth and shiny without weighing it down.
- Scent: I love the scent of this so much, I cannot even describe how good it is. It smells like sweet exotic oils and that scent really stays on your hair for 2 days. A year ago I bought this and used it completely and my boyfriend back then was infatuated with this scent, and admittedly I was too.
- Results: I think the one major problem I had with this product is that it's not as thick as the Fekkai one and I use it up in no time at all! It's a more creamy consistency while Fekkai is a more sort of 'paste'... so I've gone through 3 jars of this before I had to find something that would last longer and that's when I found the Fekkai product. This is just really awesome for hydrating dry hair, I do leave it on for more than 2 min, I leave it on for as long as I can. It's really brilliant stuff, once I blow-dry my hair after the treatment you can just tell that my hair is healthy and bouncy. Like I've stated I have fine hair so it doesn't take away what little volume I have. I also did this product about once a week but I've only just started using a curling iron regularly so my hair wasn't as tortured back then as it is now.

Product Review: Organix Brazilian Keratin Theraphy Shampoo & Conditioner
Product Review: Organix Brazilian Keratin Theraphy Shampoo & Conditioner
Cost: Around $6 each
Where to Purchase: Drugstores, Walmart or Target
Claims: An exclusive blend of antioxidant rich cocoa nut oil along with lush keratin proteins to strengthen and soften the hair, while organic avocado oil and cocoa butter smooth the cuticle for straight, strong tresses, adding a brilliant glow and luminescent shine. Sulfate & sodium free.
Thoughts: I purchased this pair because I wanted to know what this entire sulfate & sodium free bandwagon was all about. At the recommendation of another blogger I went with the Keratin Theraphy formula of Organix. I finished both bottles to their entirety and despite it not being the worst shampoo/conditioner I've ever tried it certainly wasn't the best. It was OK, it didn't do anything special for my hair and quite honestly my hair is not that hard to please. I have long fine wavy hair, which as long as I condition it looks good but I just didn't see it be more straight. It still frizzed when the weather got bad so I think I might try another one of the line and get to you all with my thoughts.
How I use it: Shampoo and condition every 2 days.

Product Review: Nexus Comb Thru Hair Spray
Product Review: Nexus Comb Thru Hair Spray (Natural Hold Design and Finishing Mist)
Cost: Around $11
Where to Purchase: Beauty salons or Ulta
Claims: Comb Thru Natural Hold Design and Finishing Mist gives you the confidence to create and re-create a flexible style with remarkable fullness and shine. Hair remains in place with a natural hold that lasts.
Thoughts: I love it. I first purchased the small travel one just to see if it even worked and after using it one time, having it on all day I went straight back to Ulta and got the large bottle. This stuff works incredibly well. It holds my curls without them being crunchy or hard, no white flakes and the day after my hair doesn't feel stiff like I doused it with hairspray and I don't feel the need to wash it, I can just re-style it.
How I use it: I spray on my hair after I've finished using the curling iron to it. Once the spray dries, which is pretty quickly, I comb my fingers thru it. The waves lasts all day and well into the night without having to re-spray.

Product Review: Rusk Designer Collection Thick
Product Review: Rusk Designer Collection Thick
Cost: Around $6
Where to Purchase: Found mine at TK Maxx.
Claims: Gives incredible body, volume, and added texture from the inside out. Becomes invisible in the hair.
Thoughts: I've nearly used an entire bottle of this and though I don't walk around with 80's big hair, it does give it a boost. However, despite the initial boost as the day wear on my hair deflates once more. I think this would work if you're going out for dinner at night where you only need 2-3 worth of volume, I don't recommend it for all-day use. My hair doesn't feel thicket but it does get a big of volume to it.
How I use it: I spray my roots with it, generously, when the hair is clean and wet. Blow-dry as normal.
